The Author, Richard Whaley, graduated in physics in 1963, then went on to undertake physics research, gaining his doctorate in 1967. Entering business, he carried out research in a number of fields, from market research to management education, and gained unusual experience of applying research techniques to a number of new fields. The subject of interaction between the sexes was originally started for purely personal reasons at university. But it was later realised that this was a problem which affected a large number of people - possibly a majority - on a scale which had not been made public before. Consequently this work was developed further. This report is a summary of the research, highlighting the conclusions. It is followed by a second study attempting to understand how or why these behaviours occur.
